A Jew with a firearm attacked two Israeli tourists in Florida, both victims were injured. This was reported by Ynet portal on February 17.
The incident occurred in the evening of February 16 in the city of Miami Beach. Two Israeli citizens, a father and sons, were in a car at the time of the attack.
"The suspect, 27-year-old Mordechai Barfman, overtook them, <...> turned around, got out of the car, and then fired 17 bullets at them," the material said.
One of the victims was wounded in the shoulder, in the second bullet slightly hit the ear.
After the attack Barfan drove home, where he was later arrested. It is indicated that the motive of the shooter is still unknown - local police said that the accused and his victims were not previously acquainted. At the same time, Barfman said under questioning that he saw two Palestinians in the car and killed both of them.
The suspect has been charged with attempted murder.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian movement Hamas subjected the territory of Israel to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. Israel began retaliatory strikes the same day.
On January 19, the first phase of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas went into effect. During this phase of the deal, which will last 42 days, 33 Israeli hostages and about 1,900 Palestinians are to be released.
