Polarnye Zorye resident steals from a woman after meeting her in a cafe

A stranger robbed a resident of Polarnye Zory in an entertainment establishment. He took 38 thousand rubles from her purse, reports the press service of the Murmansk region MIA department on Monday, February 17.
The woman appealed to the front office. According to the 40-year-old complainant, a man came to her table in a cafe. They got acquainted, but soon he left. Coming home, Murmansk woman did not count the money.
Investigators came to the scene. Employees of criminal investigation seized records from video surveillance cameras and interviewed possible eyewitnesses. On the records the police saw how one of the visitors took an unattended lady's bag, took money from it and left.
Law enforcers identified the suspect. He turned out to be a 55-year-old local resident, previously convicted of theft. The intruder was taken to the department. The man admitted his guilt, writes IA "Bi-Port".
According to the kidnapper, he saw that the victim pays with cash from his bag, waited for a convenient moment, took out the money and left. He partially spent the stolen amount for personal needs, the remaining 20 thousand rubles he gave to the woman.
A criminal case has been opened under part 2 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Theft"). The man faces up to five years of imprisonment. Now the defendant is under a recognizance not to leave.
