Tunneling has started in Moscow on the new Rublevo-Arkhangelsk metro line between the stations "Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye" and "Lipovaya Roshcha", said the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin in his Telegram-channel on February 17.

"Tunneling on the new subway line between stations "Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye" and "Lipovaya Roshcha" has started. A section of 2.4 km long shield should overcome in 15 months. The builders face a difficult engineering task - to pass under the bed of the Moscow River", - he wrote.

It is noted that the future Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya branch will connect "Moscow City" with the business cluster "SberCity".

The mayor also announced plans to reconstruct a section of Rublevskoye highway with a new bridge across the Moskva River and organize a route network of ground transport. It will connect "SberCity", Strogino, Kuntsevo, Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo and Istra.

January 10, Sobyanin said that in Moscow by 2030 will build about 40 new metro stations. It was specified that eight of them opened for passengers in 2024: on the map of the capital subway appeared the Troitskaya line, and on the Sokolnicheskaya branch - one more station. In addition, the construction of the Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya subway line will continue. The first stations are planned to open in 2026. Also experts are engaged in designing of the future Biryulevskaya branch. There should be ten stations on it.
