At least 85% of federal and 60% of regional highways in Russia will be brought into compliance with regulatory requirements by the end of 2030. This was stated by the head of Rosavtodor Roman Novikov, as reported to "Izvestia" in the press service of the Federal Road Agency on February 17.

At the same time, according to the head of the agency, the work on the development of multifunctional road service zones (MFZ) on the federal road network will continue. Positive results have already been achieved in this direction, a large number of road service facilities provide the necessary range of service offerings for road users, Novikov noted at the strategic session of the Federal Road Agency "Prospects for the development of road activities until 2035", where the key areas of work under the new national project "Infrastructure for Life" were outlined.

The Head of Rosavtodor noted the trend towards the development of domestic tourism in the Russian Federation. In the conditions of growing passenger traffic, it is especially important for the road sector workers to bring the federal highways leading to popular tourist sites to a normal condition, he pointed out.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin noted that over 160 thousand kilometers of roads were built, reconstructed and repaired during the six years of implementation of the national project "Safe Quality Roads". He emphasized that the priority is to bring the existing road facilities to a normal condition, especially in areas with high traffic intensity. As for the construction of new facilities, it is necessary to intensify work on attracting extrabudgetary sources of funding, as well as to use the mechanism of co-financing, he said.

On January 14 it was reported that in 2024 Rosavtodor after construction and reconstruction put into operation 21 objects with a total length of 506 km, which is 272.5 km more than in 2023. Thus, last year cars drove for the first time along new transportation bypasses in the Moscow, Irkutsk and Volgograd regions, the Chechen Republic, as well as the republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan.
