MP Aksakov said about the possible return of Visa and Mastercard to Russia

Payment systems Visa and Mastercard may return to Russia in the near future. This was announced on February 17 by the head of the State Duma Committee on the financial market Anatoly Aksakov.

"I think they will return in the near future and will offer their services. Because they have lost a large market and will seek to enter this market, but it will be already, of course, more difficult, because we are used to new systems. The national payment card system has shown its technological efficiency and effectiveness," he told TASS.

He added that the return of these systems to Russia will not be easy, because residents are already accustomed to relying on another payment system.

On the same day, analysts of the Kokoc Group platform predicted a massive return of foreign companies to Russia. It is noted that in 2025 may return 350 foreign companies that left the Russian market in 2022. However, some large companies may face serious problems when returning to Russia, and the most at risk are brands from the category of everyday goods.
