Sberbank sues Euroclear Bank and Clearstream Banking for RUB 53.7 billion

Sberbank has filed a lawsuit with the Moscow Arbitration Court seeking to recover more than 53.7 billion rubles from Euroclear Bank and Clearstream Banking, according to the case card.

According to the website, the suit was filed on February 14. JSC NCO National Settlement Depository has been brought in as a third party. Details of the claim requirements have not been disclosed yet.

In early December last year, the Moscow Arbitration Court recovered more than $87 thousand (about 9.3 million rubles) from Clearstream in favor of the State Development Corporation "VEB.RF". In addition, it was specified that in April the court fully satisfied the claim of "VEB.RF" against the Belgian depository Euroclear Bank and instructed to recover about $297.2 million in favor of the State Development Corporation.
