Five physicists who left the country in the 1990s have returned to Russia

Five leading specialists in the field of coordinate-time measurements, who left the country in the 1990s, have returned to Russia. This was announced on February 17 by Sergey Donchenko, Director General of the All-Russian Research Institute of Physical-Technical and Radio-Technical Measurements (VNIIFTRI).
"We have multiplied the institute's staff at the expense of young people, and we also managed to bring back from Japan, France, Germany and Italy five leading specialists in this field, who left in the 1990s, but all this time remained there at the cutting edge of developments," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, the scientists may have returned, as the Russian Federation made the greatest contribution to the formation of the international time scale in 2023. He also added that everyone has different reasons for returning to the country.
Earlier, on February 8, the president of the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute" Mikhail Kovalchuk said that science today is the main creative force that ensures the development of civilization. Kovalchuk called science one of the most important and noble endeavors in the world. He added that the more one knows, the more effective one becomes in the future.
