Owners of apartments, in which gas stoves are installed, which have exceeded the period of permissible operation, according to the legislation of 2025 will receive fines for their use. This was announced by Maria Yakovlevna, director of the Yakovlev & Partners law group, in an interview with Prime on February 17.

"According to the current legislation, the operation of gas equipment with expired service life entails administrative responsibility," the expert said.

She specified that the initial size of fines for people will be from 5 thousand to 10 thousand rubles. In case of repeated violations, the fine may increase up to Br25 thousand.

According to the expert, the average service life of a gas stove is 14 years, but this figure is not standard for all. Manufacturers independently put the allowable operating time.

She noted that if the experts discover the expiration of the stove during routine rounds, they will issue a prescription to the residents to replace or diagnose the equipment in a specialized center.

February 4, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on housing and public utilities and improvement Petr Biryukov said that since the beginning of 2025 in the capital specialists have checked more than 100 thousand gas stoves in the apartments of citizens. According to him, the specialists of the municipal economy complex checked the performance and compliance of the stoves with safety requirements.
