Adrien Brody and Mikey Madison won BAFTA awards for best actor and actress


American actor Adrien Brody, who played the main character in the movie "The Brutalist", won the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for Best Actor, and actress Madison Mikey won the Best Actress category for her performance in the movie "Anora". It is specified that Brody was previously honored with a Golden Globe Award and nominated for an Oscar for the same role. Competing with Mikey were Selena Gomez ("Emilia Perez"), Ariana Grande ("Wicked Felicity"), Isabella Rossellini ("Conclave") and Jamie Lee Curtis ("The Last Dancer").
The 78th BAFTA Awards takes place on January 16, 2025 in London.
On the same day it was reported that the film "Conclave" by German director Edward Berger received the BAFTA award in the category "Best Film". At the same time, Russian actor Yura Borisov, who played in the film "Anora", did not receive the British award for Best Supporting Actor, losing to the American Kieran Culkin.
