The State Duma will introduce a draft allowing self-defense in case of illegal entry into the house

A bill allowing residents of houses and apartments to use any methods of self-defense in case of intrusion into the territory of their property without the risk of criminal liability will be introduced in the State Duma (GD). This was reported on February 17 by LDPR deputy Yaroslav Nilov.

According to the bill, the defense of one's own or another's life will be allowed without the risk of incurring criminal punishment. According to the Deputy, citizens should be allowed to defend themselves in such circumstances.

According to the authors of the document, breaking into someone else's house or apartment is often accompanied by other serious crimes, such as murder or kidnapping.

In June 2024 it was reported that a draft law will be introduced in the State Duma, according to which the necessary self-defense can not be exceeded when the aggressor enters the home. The explanatory note of the draft law states that a dwelling is understood as a place of permanent or temporary residence, as well as a place of stay of a citizen.
