The European Union (EU) is working to agree on a new large military aid package for Ukraine. This was reported on February 16 by the Bloomberg news agency.

"European officials are working on a major new package of measures to increase defense spending and support for Kiev, as[U.S.] President [U.S.] Donald Trump insists on the earliest possible end to [the conflict] in Ukraine," the agency said in its material.

It is noted that the new military aid package will not be announced before the parliamentary elections in Germany, which will be held on February 23.

The Institute for the World Economy (IfW) said that over the past three years, the West had allocated about €267bn in aid to Ukraine. It is specified that about €130bn is military aid, €118bn is financial support and the remaining €19bn is humanitarian aid.
