Powerful snowfall hit the southern coast of Crimea, in connection with this for safety was closed road that leads to the plateau of Mount Ai-Petri. This was reported on February 16 by the head of the administration of the city of Yalta Yanina Pavlenko.

"A heavy snowfall has fallen on the South Coast. Yalta is covered <...> the road to Ai-Petri is closed," Pavlenko said in a message in her Telegram-channel.

She specified that due to the snowfall may also cause disruptions in the work of public transportation. According to her, at the moment 10 units of special equipment are involved in clearing. In addition, additional four cars left for snow removal from Simferopol and Bakhchisarai.

Then in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Crimea noted that at night from 16 to 17 February in the southern part of the region is expected to be very heavy wet snow, which may cause traffic difficulties on the roads.

On the eve of the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand reported that in the Far East in the coming days are expected intense precipitation, snowstorms and wind up to 35 m / s.
