Five people poisoned by carbon monoxide in Nizhny Novgorod region

In the town of Kulebaki in Nizhny Novgorod region, five people, including three children, were poisoned by carbon monoxide. This was reported on February 16 in the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region.

The apartment, where the poisoned family lived, was equipped with a gas column. It is specified that all the victims are hospitalized, they are provided with medical care.

A criminal case under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements of life or health of consumers") has been initiated over the incident. Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the incident.

On February 10, it became known that two children died of carbon monoxide poisoning in Ingushetia. The cause of death was a malfunction of the exhaust system of the gas water heater in the bathroom. The regional prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the incident.
