Netanyahu to send negotiating team to Cairo to discuss Gaza deal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the negotiating team to go to Cairo to discuss further implementation of the deal on the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the press service of the Prime Minister's Office on February 16.
"By agreement with the US President's Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Whitkoff, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the negotiating delegation to go to Cairo tomorrow (February 17. - Ed.)," the statement said.
It is specified that on this day the team will receive instructions for further negotiations on the second stage of the deal.
Earlier, on February 4, it was reported that Netanyahu will discuss with top US officials the Gaza ceasefire and a number of other regional conflicts that US President Donald Trump would like to "resolve or mitigate."
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip into Israel. Israel began retaliatory strikes the same day.
