One of the founders of the British rock band Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, will act as a rapporteur at the upcoming UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine. This was announced by the Russian permanent representative to the organization, Dmitriy Polyanskiy, on 16 February.

"At the upcoming February 17 UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine <...> the famous rock musician and political activist Roger Waters will again appear as our guest speaker," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Polyansky recalled that Waters' previous speech at the UN Security Council, which took place two years ago, caused a great resonance and expressed confidence that this time it would be memorable as well.

Polyansky said on February 5 that Russia had requested a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Ukraine for February 17. He said the meeting will be an occasion to discuss the "failure" of preventive diplomacy due to Western actions that have been setting Kiev up for conflict with Moscow.

Last December, Waters said that the term of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had long ended, so the country's residents should choose a new head of state through democratic elections. He also noted that Zelenskyy had become a "US puppet" and only makes decisions imposed on him, which led to the destruction of Ukraine.
