Russia has been conducting a special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas since February 24, 2022. According to the Defense Ministry, the Russian army hit the infrastructure of military airfields, an assembly shop for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), an energy facility that supports the work of enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine.

Also hit were concentrations of Ukrainian troops' manpower and equipment in 141 districts. The strikes were carried out by aviation, missile forces, artillery and drones.

At the same time, air defenses shot down two shells of the American HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) and 50 aircraft-type drones during the day.

A total of 653 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 43,522 UAVs, 594 anti-aircraft missile systems, 21,473 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,517 MLRS combat vehicles, 21,756 field artillery and mortars, and 31,726 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation.
