In Dagestan, a driver opened fire on police officers

In the village of Khuchni, Tabasaran district of Dagestan, the driver of a passenger car opened fire at police officers, a check is being conducted. This was reported on February 16 by the investigative department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia's Investigative Committee (IC) for the republic.

"According to investigators, on February 15, 2025 in the evening at the entrance to the village of Khuchni police officers stopped a passenger car driven by a man born in 2002 to check documents," the department said in its Telegram channel.

The young man started shooting towards the police officers with a firearm. When detained, the order violator was wounded. Derbent inter-district investigative department of the republican IC organized a procedural check.

Earlier, on February 9, three suspects in the shooting and attack on a policeman in Derbent were detained in Dagestan. They violated public order, and one of the defendants snatched a weapon from the law enforcer and shot him at least eight times. After that, the Derbents fled from the scene of the crime. A criminal case was opened under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer") and paragraph "b" part 4 of Article 226 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Theft of firearms with the use of violence dangerous to life or health").

The next day, Izvestia obtained footage of the attack, which showed that the attackers had beaten the policeman before the shooting.
