WP has learned of Ukraine's willingness to supply the U.S. with eggs to preserve aid

Kiev may offer Washington a large shipment of eggs in exchange for security assistance. This was reported by The Washington Post on 15 February with reference to a high-ranking Ukrainian official.

According to the newspaper, the official joked that Ukrainian leaders would consider supplying a large batch of eggs to the USA. Such a proposal is due to the rising prices for the product in the country, while Ukraine is experiencing a surplus of it. According to the official, the country is ready to do almost anything to keep Washington's help.

As the newspaper specified, Kiev continues to work on a proposal to the US, which will be able to provide Ukraine with security guarantees.

US President Donald Trump has requested access to Ukraine's rare earth metals in exchange for Washington's help. On February 14, it became known that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired on May 20, 2024) refused to sign a document provided by the U.S. side, according to which the States would have received rights to half of the Ukrainian resources not yet extracted. Reuters reported that the parties agreed to finalize some details of the agreement.
