Western Group of Forces air defense units shot down 20 AFU drones in 24 hours

The air defense forces of the West group of forces have shot down 20 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the past 24 hours. This was reported by the head of the press center of the grouping Ivan Bigma on February 16.

"Air defense calculations destroyed 20 unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type," he told TASS.

Bigma noted that the daily losses of the enemy in the area of responsibility of the Western grouping of troops amounted to up to 185 militants.

Russian fighters also destroyed five vehicles, three armored combat vehicles, including two US-made M113 armored personnel carriers (APCs).

In addition, artillery units and barrage munitions operators destroyed five AFU field artillery guns, including three produced by NATO countries, and seven mortar crews during counter-battery combat. Three electronic warfare stations were also destroyed.

On the previous day, the Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Vostok group of forces destroyed AFU reconnaissance UAVs. It was reported that the enemy drones were conducting aerial reconnaissance of Russian positions in the southern Donetsk region.
