Bloomberg reported a possible meeting between Putin and Trump in late February


Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump may meet in late February. This was reported by Bloomberg agency on February 15, citing sources.
"Senior representatives of Russia and the United States may meet next week in Saudi Arabia to prepare to hold a summit with their leaders at the end of the month to discuss the end of the conflict in Ukraine," the material says.
It is specified that the details and the list of officials who will participate in the meeting are still being worked out. At the same time, persons familiar with the situation said that most likely the group will include national security advisers.
According to one of the unnamed officials, most of the Europeans have not yet been informed. Ukrainian officials are also not fully aware of the preparations.
On February 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with Trump. The Russian leader pointed to the need to address the root causes of the crisis and agreed with his American counterpart that a long-term solution could be reached through peaceful negotiations.
On February 13, Trump announced a meeting of representatives of Russia, the USA and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia next week.
