- The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out the error in Barro's words about the liberation of France from Nazism

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has "confused everything in the world" on the issue of his country's liberation from Nazism. Such a statement was made by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on February 15.
Accordingly, she commented on Barro's gratitude to the United States for the liberation of French territory from Nazism in 1945. At the same time, the Minister did not mention the contribution of the USSR.
"Something mixed up everything in the world. He should have immediately [German Foreign Minister Annalena] Berbock thanked for the liberation of France from Nazism," she wrote in her Telegram channel.
According to Zakharova, at the next briefing she will "remind who liberated whom."
This is not the first time when representatives of Western countries keep silent about the USSR's contribution to the course of World War II and other historically important events. On January 30, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Alexandra Venediktova said that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz desecrated the memory of the Soviet people and grossly distorted the truth about the course of World War II by saying that the United States liberated Germany from fascism and helped it become a democracy.
In her words, he "deliberately silenced the price paid by the Soviet Union for liberating the world from Hitler's collaborators."
