Abkhazia's CEC declared the presidential election valid

The head of the Central Election Commission of Abkhazia Dmitry Marshan recognized the presidential election as valid and said that the turnout as of 18:00 exceeded 55%. He said this at a press conference on February 15.

"As of 18:0 the voter turnout exceeded 55%, it means that the election of the President of Abkhazia was held," - announced the head of the Commission.

On February 15, polling stations for the presidential election opened in Abkhazia. Former vice-president of the republic Badra Gunba, former Minister of Economy Adgur Ardzinba, former trade representative of Abkhazia in Russia Oleg Bartsits, former chairman of the control chamber of the republic Robert Arshba and chairman of the board of the Black Sea Development Bank Adgur Hurkhumal are registered candidates.
