Political expert predicts Zelensky's loss of power

The collapse of the Ukrainian authorities headed by President Volodymyr Zelensky (his term of office expired on May 20, 2024) is only a matter of time. This is stated in an article by Lucas Leiros, an analyst at the Center for Geostrategic Studies, for InfoBRICS on February 14.

"Without public support and with Western aid dwindling, Zelensky's dictatorship is in decline," the expert wrote.

Leiros noted that amid failures on the frontline and the end of unconditional U.S. support, Zelensky is in a desperate situation.

According to the author, possible elections will force him to leave politics, and their absence and retention of power will provoke the destruction of his image of a democratically elected leader. The latter scenario further undermines Western support for Kiev, Gazeta.Ru added.

On February 12, US President Donald Trump noted the low level of trust in Zelensky on the part of Ukrainians. According to him, Kiev will have to hold elections in the country sooner or later. The next day, the US President also said that Ukraine would be involved in the negotiations on the settlement of the conflict.
