Morning meal wakes up the body, helps normalize blood sugar levels, and has a positive effect on brain function after a night break, but you should not force yourself to eat breakfast. This was reported on February 15 by Daria Pronina, endocrinologist, therapist of the medical company "SberZdorovye".

"You should not force yourself to have breakfast. You can just drink water, do a little warm-up, and after an hour or two the body will signal hunger. It is absolutely necessary to have breakfast only if you feel like it. If you feel great without this meal, you can easily wait until lunch without obsessive thoughts about food and do not overeat during the day, then skipping breakfast is a variant of the norm," she said in a conversation with RT.

The expert specified that the reluctance to eat breakfast may be associated with an increase in blood cortisol or "wake-up hormone", which promotes the release of glucose from liver stores and creates the illusion of satiety. Ghrelin, or "hunger hormone," is "dormant."

In addition, the lack of appetite Pronina associated with the fact that the peak performance of a particular person may fall on the second half of the day, resulting in a feeling of hunger by noon. She noted that the body may not feel the need for food also due to a dense dinner.

Pronina called the best way to distribute meals during the day so that a person eats 3-4 times with a difference of 3-5 hours. She also recommended that larks and owls should try to eat at the same time to avoid stress.

According to the expert, breakfast should be balanced. At the morning meal, she recommended adhering to the principle of the Guards' plate: the dish with a diameter of 22-23 cm should be mentally divided into four parts - half of it should be fiber, the quarters are divided into protein, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats.

The doctor also recommended not to eat sweet coffee with a bun for breakfast. According to Pronina, fast carbohydrates give a burst of energy, but after a while a feeling of fatigue may appear.

On January 23, nutritionist Alena Kapustina shared that the regime of three meals a day is not suitable for everyone. According to her, the amount of food taken should be taken into account in accordance with the requirements of the person, his lifestyle, physical activity and state of health. When it comes to the amount of food, it is important to listen to your body and focus on the feeling of hunger, emphasized the expert.
