"Marathon of Romantic Sonatas" will be held at Yuri Bashmet's winter arts festival


Four concerts "Marathon of Romantic Sonatas" will be held within the framework of the XVIII Winter International Festival of Arts by Yuri Bashmet in the St. Petersburg House of Music. This was reported by the press service of the cultural institution on Saturday, February 15.
Concerts will be held under the direction of People's Artist of Russia, Professor Sergei Roldugin and "Russian Concert Agency" on Saturday, at 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 and 18:00.
The marathon will open with Schumann's Sonata No. 1 for violin and piano in A minor, written in 1851. Next will be Weber's large concerto duet for clarinet and piano in E-flat major. At 16:00 the guests will be presented a rare copy of Liszt's musical heritage, in particular, the large concert duet Le marin for violin and piano. The marathon will conclude with Richard Strauss's Sonata for Violin and Piano in E flat major, written in 1887-1888.
The works will be performed by representatives of the Russian Music Team - winners of international music prizes and Russian participants of the Tchaikovsky International Competition.
The concerts of the project during the season are held in creative cooperation with various concert venues and groups in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yalta, Nizhny Novgorod, Kaliningrad, Tula, Kirov, Voronezh and Ulyanovsk.
On February 10, the star of the series "Magnificent Century" and melodrama "Black Love", Turkish actor Burak Ozcivit performed at the State Kremlin Palace as part of the concert "Music of Turkish TV series". During the event, melodies from the cult projects "Magnificent Century", "Black Love" and "Foundation: Osman" performed by a symphony orchestra were played.
