Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired on May 20, 2024) has offered to choose another citizenship to Ukrainians who hope to run in the presidential election. He made the corresponding statement at the Munich Security Conference on 15 February.

The head of the Kiev regime noted the readiness to talk about elections, but, according to him, Ukrainians "do not want it."

"If someone doesn't like it, they can choose another citizenship," he said during a speech published on his office's YouTube channel.

The Ukrainian president also specified that the country needs the unity of the people.

In an interview with ITV News on Feb. 7, Zelensky said that the entire population of Ukraine "opposes the elections" while the conflict continues. In an interview with The Economist on February 12, he avoided a clear answer to the question of lifting martial law after the fighting ends. Martial law will probably end if the hot phase of the conflict ends, the head of the Kiev regime said.
