Muscovite who tried to poison his rival with mercury pies arrested


Law enforcers arrested a Muscovite who drugged baked goods with mercury in order to kill his acquaintance. This was reported in the Telegram-channel of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office on February 15.
A criminal case of murder (part 3 of article 30, part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was initiated against the attacker. During the meeting, the man admitted his guilt, but asked the court not to put him in custody.
"I knew that he would take a puff from me and eat it together with mercury, because he liked these puffs", - commented the figurehead his actions.
The poisoner said that he pumped the bought puff puff with mercury on the nightstand in the toilet.
The poisoning of two people with baked goods with mercury in a Moscow cafe was reported by the health department of the capital on February 11. They asked for medical help, the doctors arrived on the spot and gave the victims a gastric lavage. Later, the capital department of Rospotrebnadzor began an epidemiological investigation.
The next day, the agency temporarily suspended the work of the bakery "Melnitsa" on Simferopol Boulevard, in which the poisoned bought products. Investigators found that the Muscovite, feeling jealousy, decided to get rid of a rival. It was specified that during the investigation he put forward contradictory versions, trying to present what happened as an accident.
