A resident of Yekaterinburg has been detained on suspicion of kidnapping a 15-year-old girl. A criminal case has been initiated, reported Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the Sverdlovsk police on February 15.
According to local media reports, on the evening of February 14, the girl was waiting for her father in the car near Kuibyshev Street when the man opened the car door, took her by the hand and took her away. According to preliminary data from the press service of the SU SK SK in the Sverdlovsk region, the man was unfamiliar to the girl.
"The girl has been found. She is alive and taken to the hospital for examination. The operatives did not find any external signs of criminality on her body. <...> Based on the results of verification measures by the police, the collected materials were transferred to the bodies of the regional Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for a well-founded procedural decision", - said Gorelykh.
Criminal Investigation Department detectives identified and detained a local resident born in 1973. Now he is being questioned by law enforcement officers.
"According to the regional ICR, in order to most thoroughly, investigatively, to establish all the circumstances of the child's unknown disappearance and to find out whether any unlawful acts were committed against the girl, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (kidnapping)", - added in the department.
January 15, it was reported on the process of recovery of the girl, kidnapped in the Kaluga region in 2023. According to her mother, the girl is afraid to stay alone and has a fear of the dark. On the same day, the Kaluga regional court found Irina and Dmitry Novikov guilty of kidnapping the girl and extorting money for her release, sentencing them to 12 and 14 years in prison.
