The Strela-10 SAM system destroyed an AFU UAV on the South Donetsk direction

Russian troops have destroyed reconnaissance UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the southern Donetsk region. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on February 15 and provided the corresponding video.

"The calculations of the Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Vostok group of forces destroyed the reconnaissance UAVs of the AFU, which were conducting aerial reconnaissance of Russian positions in the South Donetsk direction," the statement reads.

The agency noted that the calculations of the Strela-10 SAMs work on aircraft-type drones and, if necessary, shoot down drones with ammunition as well.

"The Strela surface-to-air missile system usually operates in the so-called red zone - in close proximity to the line of contact. The complex covers our army units on the front line," the Defense Ministry said.

On the same day it was reported that the Russian grouping of troops "West" over the day destroyed up to 200 AFU fighters, Starlink satellite communication station, as well as four field ammunition depots of the enemy.
