The Sovfed reported the end of the era of the collective West

The collective West in its original form was buried at the 61st Munich Conference, it no longer exists. Konstantin Kosachev, vice-speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, said on February 15.
"The collective West no longer exists. In the sense in which it was conceived. This is how we can label the outcome of the Munich Security Conference, which has not yet ended but has already failed," the senator wrote in his Telegram channel.
He recalled that this event appeared in 1963, and its purpose was to "cement" the ideological unity of the West. Over time, it turned into a platform where the US, as NATO leaders, taught its European allies about transatlantic solidarity, which later degenerated into the "hand washes hand" principle. Within its framework, all violators of the law could get away with any misdemeanor.
Kosachev noted that after the end of the Cold War, the collective West turned into a global threat. It created problems for humanity, most of which was not part of the so-called "golden billion" and did not have equal opportunities with Western states to defend their national interests. The senator pointed out that Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about this at the Munich Conference in 2007 and proposed alternative options for the coexistence of countries, but his ideas were rejected.
Eighteen years later, at the 61st Munich Conference, the collective West, as Kosachev pointed out, was buried, and this is highly symbolic. The new US administration, led by President Donald Trump, has signaled its estrangement from European allies, but this does not indicate plans to build a just world order, but only a redistribution of roles, where everyone will be for himself. The senator emphasized that such an option carries even greater risks than a unipolar world.
Kosachev added that the Munich Conference will never become a platform for a multipolar world, as it missed this chance in 2007, and now its alternatives are emerging.
On February 14, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance spoke at the Munich Security Conference, focusing on the crisis in Europe, which the countries of the region created themselves. The American politician called the most critical problem of the European Union (EU) the record mass migration, which was not voted for by any of the residents of the association. Vance emphasized that if EU politicians are "fleeing in fear" from their own voters, the US can't help here.
Trump called the vice president's speech brilliant and approved his words about the crisis facing Europe.
