- The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded owners about fines for refusal to register migrants

Owners who rent housing to foreigners will be held administratively liable if they do not put the tenants on the migration register. This was reminded on February 14 by the press service of the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (GUVM of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia) in the official Telegram-channel.
"Putting a foreigner on the register is an obligation of the owner. If the owner rents out residential premises, but refuses to register at the place of stay, it is an administrative offense and entails imposing a fine on the owner in the amount of up to 4 thousand rubles," the department said.
The Interior Ministry also noted that this procedure does not entail additional costs, and it can be done online through the portal "Gosuslugi.
Since February 5, citizens illegally staying in the Russian Federation began to apply the expulsion regime. Such foreigners will also be included in the register of controlled persons until their expulsion, deportation or independent departure from Russia, or until the settlement of their legal status on the territory of the Russian Federation.
