A school was damaged by an earthquake in the Altai Republic

As a result of the earthquake in the Altai Republic, a school in the village of Kupchegen was damaged. This was reported on February 15 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region in Telegram-channel.

It is noted that six settlements fell within 50-kilometer zone: Beltir, Kosh-Agach, Chagan Uzun, Mukhor-Tarkhata, Ortolyk, Kurai, Tobeler, Telengit-Sortogoi, Chagan Uzun. The preliminary intensity amounted to 4-5 points.

"Minor damage to the plaster in the Secondary General Education School of the village Kupchegeni in Ongudai district was revealed," - stated in the message.

In addition, as a result of the earthquake there was a short-term power outage in part of the village of Kosh-Agach.

Theearthquake has happened in Altai Republic on the border of Russia and Mongolia with magnitude 6.4 at 8:48 local time (4:48 Moscow time) in Kosh-Agach district. Epicenter was located in 29 km from Kosh-Agach village. Focal point of the earthquake was located at the depth of 1 km.
