The State Duma listed the main types of additional payments to pensioners

Russian pensioners may receive additional payments to pensions depending on the region of residence, length of service, age, health, profession and other factors. This was reported to "RIA Novosti" on February 15 by State Duma deputy Nikita Chaplin.

"One of the key additional payments are regional coefficients. They are accrued to the fixed part of the pension and are designed to compensate for difficult climatic conditions of residence. For example, in Salekhard the coefficient is 1.8, while in Moscow it is absent. If a pensioner moves to a region with a milder climate, the amount of the supplement is reduced, and vice versa," he said.

The deputy noted that a special attention should be paid to the northern allowance, which is entitled to those who have worked at least 15 years in the Far North or 20 years in equated areas. The total insurance experience should be at least 25 years for men and 20 years for women. In this case, the fixed part of the pension increases by 1.5 or 1.3 times.

"District coefficient and northern allowance are not summed up - only one of them is applied, the most favorable for the pensioner," - said the deputy of the State Duma.

He also noted that for residents of rural areas there is a rural supplement, which is available to non-working pensioners who have worked for at least 30 years in the agro-industry. The amount of the supplement is 25% of the fixed part of the pension, which is equivalent to 2182.18 rubles in 2025. If the pensioner moves to the city, the payment is preserved, but it stops upon employment. After dismissal, it can be restored.

Also Chaplin emphasized that privileged categories of pensioners, such as Chernobyl victims, veterans and heroes of Labor, can receive a monthly cash payment (UDV).

For citizens who have outstanding achievements in science, culture, art or other spheres, additional financial support is provided. Thus, the heroes of the USSR and the Russian Federation receive 415% of the basic social pension.

Chaplin noted that pensioners who have reached the age of 80 are entitled to an age supplement. According to him, in this case, the fixed part of the pension is doubled. The same payment is entitled to the disabled of the first group, regardless of their age.

The deputy recalled that for those whose pension, even taking into account all allowances does not reach the subsistence minimum, there is a social supplement, which allows to increase the monthly payment to the established level.

"Social supplementary payment is assigned automatically on the basis of data from the Social Fund of Russia. Thus, in 2025, pensioners will be able to take advantage of a wide range of support measures that will help improve their financial situation," Chaplin explained.

Lawyer Polina Gusyatnikova said on February 13 that the presence of a bank deposit in some cases may deprive pensioners of the opportunity to qualify for benefits for payment of housing and communal services (HCS). She reminded that when calculating a large number of social benefits and payments, the principle of income accounting is applied. Not only pension, but also interest on bank deposits is taken into account.
