Vilfand warned of intense precipitation and strong winds in the Far East

In the Far East in the coming days, intense precipitation, snowstorms and wind up to 35 m/s are expected. This was reported by the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand on February 15.
"In the south of Kamchatka in the coming days there will be heavy snow, winds of 25-30 m/s are forecast, and on the southwestern coast of the Pacific Ocean - winds up to 35 m/s, the strongest blizzard, poor visibility," he specified in conversation with TASS.
Vilfand added that strong wind, snow and blizzard are also expected in the Kuril Islands and Sakhalin. According to him, such weather in the region is associated with the activity of cyclones.
However, according to meteorologists of the service "Yandex Weather", spring in the Far East will be warm. It is predicted to exceed the climatic norm by more than one degree. Such changes will be associated with the deep transfer of warmed Atlantic air masses.
