A UAV crew destroyed an M-113 armored personnel carrier of the AFU on the Dzerzhynsk direction

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) unit of a separate battalion of the 51st Guards Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District has destroyed an American-made M-113 armored personnel carrier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and enemy manpower on the Dzerzhinsky direction of the special military operation (SMO). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on February 15.

It is noted that UAV operators conduct reconnaissance 24 hours a day, determining the location of equipment, firepower and personnel of the AFU.

The ministry noted that the importance of UAVs in modern combat is constantly growing. In this regard, there are new models of drones and tactical techniques of their use.

"This is our portable control center. We are drones, we use it to control these drones. Every day tasks come in. Sometimes we receive tasks to destroy equipment, sometimes we receive tasks to knock the enemy out of a stronghold," said the UAV operator with the call sign Cherkes.

Active use of reconnaissance and strike UAVs, including FPV drones, allows saving lives of servicemen of assault and reconnaissance units that operate in close proximity to the enemy.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported the day before that UAV units using FPV drones destroyed military equipment and positions of the AFU on the Donetsk direction of the SSO zone. According to the ministry, the drones are used to hit military equipment, destroy fortifications, combat points and concentrations of personnel.
