U.S. President Donald Trump said on Feb. 14 that he would take a tough stance on the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip after a promised deadline.

"I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow at 12 o'clock, I would take a tough stance," Trump said during a speech at the White House.

He specified that absolutely every person held in Gaza must be released. At the same time, the American leader added that he did not know how Israel would behave in this matter.

On February 10, the Palestinian radical movement Hamas decided to postpone the release of Israeli hostages scheduled for February 15 due to Israel's failure to comply with the terms of the ceasefire agreement. Later, on February 12, it was reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio would travel to Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia to hold talks on Gaza, focusing on the release of the hostages.
