Trump called the $600 billion in duties against China a record for the U.S.

U.S. leader Donald Trump on Feb. 14 said the $600 billion in duties imposed against China are the largest in U.S. history.
"I have imposed very substantial duties against China to the tune of $600 billion. No other president has imposed so many," Trump said during a speech at the White House.
On Feb. 1, Trump signed an executive order imposing trade tariffs of 25 percent on goods from Canada, China and Mexico. In response, China's State Council reported on February 4 that China is imposing duties of 15% on coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States starting February 10. In addition, it was noted that tariffs of 10% will be imposed on U.S. oil, multi-cylinder cars, pickup trucks and agricultural machinery.
