Famous French journalist and TV presenter Richard Boutry intends to seek asylum in Russia, as well as French journalist Natasha Rey, after the assassination attempt on him. He told Izvestia on February 14.

"First of all, it is necessary that this asylum is given to me, and to understand what I will do for a living. <...> I'm thinking about it more and more, just like Natasha. And it's true that I'm thinking very seriously about going to Russia. I have already applied to the French authorities and to the Russian embassy in France," the journalist said.

Thus, Boutry said that he had already appealed to the embassy, but did not receive a response. According to the Frenchman, he "just wrote at the wrong time."

The French TV presenter specified that he maintains close contacts with Rey. He spoke about harassment from the French authorities after he began criticizing the country's health policy, NATO, head of state Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte.

"I have become a person to be gotten rid of, a journalist to be removed. And it's very hard, I'm cut off from my income, I have no income anymore. When friends send me sums to have some money, they cut me off. When people send me money, they block it and then send it to Ukraine, can you imagine?" - shared Butri.

The journalist said that because of his position he is under a lot of pressure, once the car he was in was even shot at. He clarified that his car was equipped with an armor system, including the windows, thanks to which he was not injured.

"When we wanted to investigate, we were quickly told, 'You know, Mr. Butrie, unfortunately you're not going to get anywhere, you're wasting your time'." And then the case was buried. <...> The French legal system is completely trashed and denigrated, not only by the judges who are appointed by the government, but also by the judges of the French judiciary, who are also appointed by the government."," Boutry concluded.

Earlier, on February 3, Rey told Izvestia about the obstruction of her investigation in France and subsequent publication. According to her, just weeks after she contacted a woman close to the Macron family, she was detained by police officers. When they raided her home, they tried to break down the front door. The journalist's lawyer, Francois Dangléan, later revealed that she had requested political asylum in Russia.
