Roskachestvo told about actions when changing passport after buying a ticket

A train ticket for travel within Russia may not be changed if the new passport contains a stamp on the old one. It may be put on one of the pages of the new document at the owner's request. If there is no mark, a new ticket will have to be issued. This was told to "Izvestia" on Saturday, February 15, in the press service of Roskachevo.

Russian Railways notes in its rules that after the payment of the ticket, it is impossible to make corrections to the details and specified data. At the same time, it is emphasized that the person placing the order is fully responsible for the correctness of the details and personal data of each passenger. And mismatch of passport data in this case can be considered as a mistake.

Also additional actions are required when changing your name or surname. It will be necessary at boarding to show the document on the basis of which it happened, to confirm that the surname or name really changed, told "Izvestia".

It is specified that the passenger is allowed in the train on presentation of an expired passport, which was specified when issuing a ticket, within 90 days after the day of reaching the prescribed age. And children aged 14 are allowed on the train upon presentation of a birth certificate within the same period after the day of reaching the age, as well as during the period required to obtain a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation.

As for airline tickets, if it was bought on an old passport, the airline must be notified of the availability of a new one. In this case, it is possible to make changes to the ticket for an additional fee. It is also necessary to change the data in case of a change of name and surname.

"When buying an air ticket for a flight to another country, pay attention to the validity of the passport. It should not only be valid for the duration of the flight, but also during your entire stay abroad. If the passport is almost expired, it is better to change it and then buy a ticket", - warned in Roskachestvo.

In Roskachestvo reminded that for the period of registration of a new passport is issued a temporary identity card, which can also be used to buy a railroad ticket.

"As for tickets, usually the issue can be solved with relatively little blood, the main thing is to try to do it in advance, as soon as you get a new document", - recommended in the department.
