State Duma says expects positive outcome from Ukraine deal

State Duma deputy Mikhail Sheremet told Izvestiya on 14 February about his expectations that the future deal on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict would put an end to foreign military corporations earning money on the blood of ordinary citizens taking part in the hostilities. This is how he commented on US Vice President J.D. Vance's statement that the deal would "shock a lot of people."
"I wish that this "shock" was positive, and that this deal could put an end to making money on the blood of ordinary citizens of other states, heads of corporations, industrial and military corporations that are interested in making military conflicts expand and continue on our planet," - quotes his commentary "Duma TV".
The politician expressed hope that the promises of peaceful regulation made by American President Donald Trump will not disappoint all humanity.
"He has all the levers to change the aggressively international current and direct it in a positive, peaceful, constructive direction," Sheremet added.
Earlier, on February 13, US President Donald Trump announced a meeting of representatives of Russia, the States and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia next week. The American leader noted that he believes in the readiness of Russian President Vladimir Putin to peacefully resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
Vance confirmed to Izvestia on February 14 that he was ready to come to Russia for talks on Ukraine.
