Sobyanin and Evkurov opened a flight-testing complex for drones


A flight test complex - one of the key facilities of the Federal Center for Unmanned Aerial Systems - has been opened in Moscow in the Rudnevo Industrial Park. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told about it.
"Together with the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov inspected the work of the new complex," - wrote the mayor in his Telegram.
Sobyanin called the new complex the best platform for testing UAVs in real conditions and the largest training center for pilots.
On the territory erected a flight hangar for demonstration flights and tests, aviation training center, where, in particular, the equipment will be serviced. In addition, an administrative and technical module, a boathouse for aircraft storage and a take-off and landing area were built here.
For the construction of the flight-testing complex, a plot of 11 hectares has been allocated, where an experimental legal regime has been introduced to allow for the flight of UAS over 30 kilograms without an airworthiness certificate and for the training of pilots to fly them.
