Workers of the railway sector went on protests in the capital of Moldova and a number of other cities because of non-payment of salaries. About it on February 14 reports the edition NewsMaker.

"Employees of the state enterprise "Railroad of Moldova" held protests in Chisinau, Ocnita, Balti, Ungheni, Bender, Besarabeasca and Giurgiulesti," - stated in the material.

The representatives of the sector demanded to pay the wage arrears accumulated over several months and to raise it to the level of the minimum wage in the country. Otherwise, they threatened to quit.

The protesters reached the parliament building in Chisinau. It is reported that the total amount of wage arrears is over 156 million lei (over 762 million rubles).
