Bulgarian President calls for resolving Ukraine crisis through diplomacy

All instruments of diplomacy should be used to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. Bulgarian President Rumen Radev told Izvestia on 14 February.
He noted that the world has seen a strong political stance to find a peaceful solution by Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
"This is the main thing, because it is very difficult to find a military solution to this conflict. Finally, we need to use all the tools of diplomacy," he said.
Radev has repeatedly advocated a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
Putin and Trump held a phone conversation on February 12. As the Kremlin spokesman pointed out, it lasted 1.5 hours. The two leaders focused on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. The Russian President, in turn, recalled the need to eliminate the root causes of the crisis. The parties agreed on the idea of a diplomatic settlement.
The Financial Times (FT) reported on February 11 that the Trump-Putin deal would be the worst nightmare for European Union (EU) leaders. According to the FT, if the European side also wants to be present at the negotiations on the Ukrainian conflict, it must offer something. It is noted that only in this case the interests of Europe will be taken into account in the implementation of the deal.
