Two powerful flares have occurred on the Sun

Two flares penultimate class of power recorded on the Sun on Friday, February 14, in the afternoon. This was reported in the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FGBU "IPG").

"February 14 at 05:28 Moscow time in the X-ray range registered flare M1.2 (S16E88) with a duration of 30 minutes, <...> at 13:06 Moscow time in the X-ray range in the group of spots 3990 (S13E21) registered flare M1.2 with a duration of 31 minutes", - stated in the message FGBU "IPG".

Solar flares, depending on the power of X-ray radiation are divided into five classes: A, B, C, M and maximum X. As you move to the next letter, the power increases by a factor of 10. Flares, as a rule, are accompanied by emissions of solar plasma, clouds of which, reaching the Earth, can provoke magnetic storms.

Flash penultimate class of power was also recorded on the Sun on February 13. Then it was predicted that the centers of solar activity will remain in the zone of direct influence on the Earth for at least two or three more days.
