Pskov will have 14 cultural heritage protection zones. They were approved by the regional committee for the protection of cultural heritage objects and the Russian Ministry of Culture.

The head of the committee, Vadim Nedik, told the Pskov Newswire that in 2024, the regional authorities focused on solving the issues of regulating urban planning activities and developing the boundaries of territories. In addition, they managed to finalize the project to develop 14 unified protection zones for Pskov. Now they must be approved by the Pskov Regional Assembly of Deputies.

Nedik specified that 12 projects have already been registered by the Russian Ministry of Justice. In 2019, the objects of Pskov were included in the list of world heritage sites. In the city there are complexes, serial objects, temples of the Pskov architectural school.14 projects close all the territories of especially valuable cultural heritage sites included in the list of world heritage, added the head of the Committee for the protection of cultural heritage sites of the Pskov region.

Nedik called this project unique, as Pskov is the only city in Russia, in which all measures of both federal and regional levels to provide protection zones for cultural heritage sites have been fully implemented.

In November, it was reported that the restoration of the Church of Nikola of Usokhi, a cultural history monument of federal significance and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, would continue in Pskov.
