More than 8 thousand hectares of forest will be planted in the Tyumen Region


About 8 thousand hectares of tree seedlings are planned to be planted in the Tyumen region in 2025. This was announced by the head of the region Alexander Moore in his Telegram on Friday, February 14.
As explained by the governor, reforestation activities are provided for by the federal program "Forest Conservation", which will continue under the new national project "Environmental Wellbeing".
According to Ura.ru news agency , in the past 2024 the area of planting young trees was one and a half times the size of the territory affected by forest fires and felling.
The project on restoration and reforestation has been implemented in the region since 2019. For this direct were planted seedlings on the site with a total area of 48 thousand hectares
Earlier "Izvestia" wrote that to restore the system of cultivation of valuable forests in eight Russian cities work DNA-laboratories. Scientists conduct genetic analysis of seeds, from which they then try to grow tall and thick-trunked trees.
