Lada Niva has become significantly faster with a new engine

Acceleration time from zero to one hundred in the Lada Niva Sport has been reduced by five seconds compared to the classic Niva Legend, and the top speed has increased by 20 km/h. This was reported on February 14 by VAZ Telegram-channel "Let's get along with Lada".

Lada Niva Sport is equipped with a 1.6-liter 16-valve engine from the Granta Sport with an output of 122 hp. The standard Niva has a 1.7-liter 8-valve engine with 83 hp. According to data on the AvtoVAZ website, the classic SUV accelerates to a hundred in 17 seconds and develops a maximum of 142 km/h.

The Lada Niva Sport engine is designed to work at 6.5 thousand rpm, although the maximum power is achieved at slightly lower speeds - 5.9 thousand. Lada Sport division has modernized various engine systems: intake, exhaust, fuel supply, gas distribution mechanism. The engine controller has also received its own settings.

For example, modernization of the intake system increased the amount of incoming air. In order to supply the required amount of fuel, the fuel system has been modernized: Niva Sport has 38% more productive injectors. The Niva Sport motor was "tested" on the rally "Silk Way".
