Some parts of Los Angeles, California are experiencing landslides and flooding. The New York Post (NYP) reported on February 14.

"Parts of Los Angeles County are experiencing landslides and flooding after a heavy downpour - just a month after deadly fires ravaged the region," the piece said.

Mayor Karen Bass warned residents that the greatest risk of heavy rain, flooding, mudslides and wind gusts is seen in the evening. She urged citizens to prepare for precipitation.

Heavy rain fell on Los Angeles in the morning of February 12, the showers intensified by the evening, CNN reported. Precipitation subsided by the evening of Thursday, February 13.

Numerous wildfires swept through Los Angeles in early January. As a result of fires affected more than 16 thousand hectares, the damage was estimated at more than $250 billion.

On January 24, US President Donald Trump reported plans to sign an executive order on reforming the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). It was assumed that states would be obliged to implement response measures.
