Orban predicts Russia's reintegration into the global economy after the settlement in Ukraine

Russia will be integrated back into the system of the world economy and European security after the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on February 14.

"If the American president[Donald Trump] comes, makes peace <...> Russia will be reintegrated into the European economic, energy and security system," Hirado.hu quoted him as saying.

According to him, this outcome will open up great opportunities for Hungary.

Orban also said he would ensure the state's presence in the process of negotiating a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict "to the extent that corresponds to its weight."

The Hungarian prime minister said on Feb. 4 that the U.S. president had turned the world upside down in two weeks. In particular, he noted the termination of the American side's support for military action in Ukraine. At the same time, Orban expressed the opinion that Trump's return to the White House would lead to significant changes in global trade, which would confront the European Union with serious problems.
