JAC announced car assembly in Russia

JAC is going to localize cars in Russia. One of the first models to be assembled in the country will be the T9 pickup truck. This is stated in the message of the Russian representative office of the Chinese brand, which was received by "Izvestia" on February 14.

It is planned that the first localized cars will appear this summer. At what enterprise they will be produced, it is not specified. JAC also reported that a diesel version of the T9 pickup is expected to be launched soon.

At the beginning of 2025, JAC maintains leadership in the pickup segment with a market share of more than 24%, the flagship T9 tops the list of the most popular models, accounting for 18.3% of total sales. The company noted that the pickup segment continues to grow.

In January, Sollers announced the launch of production of Sollers ST6 and ST8 all-wheel drive pickup trucks on a full-cycle technology at the UAZ industrial site in the Ulyanovsk region, these models are based on JAC.

On February 5, the JAC brand introduced a branded line of accessories for the T9 pickup, which includes a durable one-piece shovel. The T9 also gets a certified towbar, a winch, electric trailer leads, a cargo roll-out platform, and swivel transfer cases. In addition, the pickup truck has underbody protection, body cover, kung and luggage frame for transportation of long lengths, and a tent can be installed on it

On January 20, JAC representatives announced that the JS6 urban crossover will receive a full refresh in the second quarter of 2025. Minivan RF8 will be presented on the Russian market in summer, and full-size SUV JS9 - at the end of the year.
